Hobb fans who live in the USA can take advantage of Interlibrary loan. You go to your local library and ask for an interlibrary loan and they will search other libraries until they find one, ask for the loan of it, and mail it to your library. This used to be a free, but I think they charge for it now. Still, it's a useful service. Perhaps other countries have something similar. Here's more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interlibrary_loan . Guess I better check out that local copy before someone here borrows it.
There's also WorldCat, a group of mutually sharing libraries. I plug in the name of the book, and my location, and it tells me which nearby libraries have a copy. They don't do the loaning for me, but at least I can find one near enough to go visit. It's at http://www.worldcat.org/ . I notice that they list some Australian libraries.

But as for me, my heart is with the Sea, and I will dwell by the grey shores until the last ship sails.
