Oh, I didn't know that one yet. On the to-buy list
Since 'thul brought up Norwegian music, I want to add one of the most influential musicians I've ever had the pleasure of hearing: Biosphere, a.k.a. Geir Jenssen. His earlier stuff (Microgravity, Patashnik) were more trance-oriented, but his later works are absolute masterpieces of ambient soundscapes. Very quiet (sometimes almost too quiet: Shenzhou), relaxing stuff.
Biosphere - Poa alpina (from 'Substrata')
Geir Jenssen - Zhangmu - Crossing a landslide area (from 'Cho Oyu 8102m - Field recordings from Tibet', a soundcollage that Geir Jenssen made while climbing the Cho Oyu)

You know nothing, Jon Snow
