On the subject of weird television, does anyone here regularly watch Canadian TV? No? Didn't think so. Moving on...

I haven't seen Avatar. I actually don't watch many movies.

I think my single favourite movie of all time is Edward Scissorhands. I like the way that he means well, but doesn't really know the difference between right and wrong. Also, the scenes of perfect still life suburbia seem really... evocative to me.

Plus I'm a little bit in love with Johnny Depp, and that just isn't going to change.

I guess you really don't like Priscilla then P. Together with Muriel my favourite Australian movie.

I have here, in my little hands, a copy of 'The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, so, here's to YOU, joost P !!! ***she says as she opens the front cover, hands shaking and guts churning***

I don't watch many movies either, especially not AT the movies. Avatar is one of the few movies I've seen 'recently' at the movies (wasn't MY choice).
I think the plot and script were about what I expected (ie not much). I did like the effects and the atmosphere of the blue guys world though. I could almost see it as a bit rain wilds-ish ........ (at least Thymara's rain wilds)

It took me a couple of days to get up the gumption to finally go from opening the case to actually watching it BUT I just did...the entire thing! My previously posted assessment was based on my first viewing many, many years ago and now, well, I would go so far as to say it would be number one on my list of 'Worst Movie Ever' P!!! Sorry all but it is a SHOCKER...and made all the worse for being Australian Smiling !!!

Oh, I haven't belly-laughed like that in ages P !! *still wiping away the tears*

If it helps put things in perspective, I know that I am in the extreme minority on a national and even international scale (I could be wrong but as far as I know, 'Priscilla' is rated our number one all-time film for both) and it even got a showing when we hosted the Olympics!!

Putting my polite hat on Crown, I thought Stamp gave the best performance, and even caused me to tear up when he * spoiler for 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' *
[+]Spoiler
decided to stay in Alice Springs.
My other all-time Worst Movie Ever would have to be 'Picnic at Hanging Rock', just so you know 'Priscilla' isn't hanging out there like a lone wolf...

Feel free to post disparaging remarks regarding 'The Man from Snowy River'...fair's fair after all Wink !

But ... but ... it has ABBA in it. Nothing that has ABBA in it can be bad.

Hehehe Farseer it's good to see something get a good bagging now and then!
Was there some particular aspect of it you didn't like?
I liked it, but it's not my fav. I probably just liked seeing Guy Pearce in tight costumes (sorry hope you don't throw up there)
As to Abba .............. weeeeeeellll .......personally I'd have to put that on the 'cons' side really.......
