A few words about spam

It would appear that the countermeasures still do not quite hold up for some reason or other.
(considering the two pages of new spambot threads)


Perhaps add some form of difficult-for-bot-to-answer question upon registering?

This is so ridiculous. Why hasn't anyone been online to fix all this spam stuff? It sounds like the 'thul beings know what they're talking about when it comes to stuff like this - so perhaps he (they) should have moderator or some sort of higher access to help correct.

I feel like the forums have been 100% stagnant since the spammers showed up because we can't get through all that stuff to post. It's disheartening.

I only have rights to ban people, but not to remove posts (unless they're in the Dutch subforum).

these beings know some about dealing with bots, but not enough to set up all that many countermeasures. The safest/best ones go deeper than merely admin control panel (which is the extent of what 'thul have experience with)

It is terrible.. and I find it strange that neither Mervi nor Farseer are here. I miss my discussion with you guys, even if there aren't very many of us. It just feels dirty to go discussing stuff around all that bot-clutter.
